AMSTERDAM

And this time, we travel to Amsterdam, a city that I hope I can visit again soon, since I just spent a few hours there. Layover was pretty long, that is why we decided to get the train from the airport to the city centre, where we took a bus and went directly to one of the most amazing museums in the world, the Rijksmuseum. Because of lack of time, we didn’t see as much as we wanted, but I am sure there will be a next time. We have to visit one great friend that lives there… So I hope we find an excuse to visit The Netherlands soon. (By the way, Heleen, thanks for your tips).

And a suggestion… Amsterdam airport is pretty crowded. There are so many security points, what can cause long delays… It is good that you have plenty of time to catch your flight, since you will have to wait in line longer than usual, and go many times through security, especially if you do what we did, leave luggage at the airport, go to the city and go back to the airport after a few hours. People is suspicious you visit Amsterdam for other reasons, instead of just for tourism. So keep this in mind. Have you had any similar experience at Amsterdam’s airport?

Esta vez, viajamos a Amsterdam, una ciudad preciosa que me encantó, a pesar de que sólo pasamos unas horitas allí. Teníamos que esperar al siguiente vuelo en el aeropuerto, y en vez de quedarnos allí estancados, decidimos dejar las maletas en una consigna, y coger un tren hasta la ciudad. (Sugerencias de nuestra amiga Heleen, que nos ayudaron mucho). Allí tomamos un autobús hasta el famoso museo Rijksmuseum, que definitivamente visitaremos de nuevo. Se necesita más tiempo, pero al menos conocimos el ambiente de la ciudad. 

Sugerencia: Id con tiempo a coger vuestro siguiente vuelo en el aeropuerto de Amsterdam. Hay muchos controles de seguridad, y no está muy bien organizado. Seguramente os toque esperar largas colas… y si venís de la ciudad como hicimos nosotros, después de pasar allí sólo unas horas, los controles de seguridad aún son más exhaustivos. Obviamente mucha gente va a Amsterdam con otras intenciones, distintas a hacer turismo. Quizás sea debido a eso. ¿Os ha pasado algo similar en el aeropuerto de Amsterdam?
